The Mariners released Loutos on Thursday.
Loutos cleared waivers after being designated for assignment, but the Mariners have elected to move on from the reliever rather than outright him. The right-hander has had a rough go of it in his brief time in the majors the last two seasons, posting a 10.67 ERA and 8:9 K:BB over 14.1 innings.
