Parnell was reassigned to the Royals' minor league camp Monday, MLB.com's Jeffrey Flanagan reports.
Injury woes have derailed a once-promising career for Parnell, who spent most of last season with Triple-A Toledo in the Tigers organization. After submitting an uninspiring 3.95 ERA and 1.42 WHIP in 43.1 innings with Toledo, Parnell will need to show dramatic improvement for Triple-A Omaha before the Royals consider adding him to the 40-man roster.
