McLain started in center field and went 0-for-3 in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to Milwaukee.
Other than his hitless night at the plate, McLain had no issues defensively in first-ever start in the outfield. He made a nice running catch near the wall in right-center field and could continue to see time there with Blake Dunn (elbow) and Dane Myers (shoulder) on the injured list.
