The Red Sox recalled Sogard from Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday, Ari Alexander of 7 News Boston reports.
With Curtis Mead set to miss extended time due to a fractured wrist, Sogard will rejoin the big club to help replenish Boston's infield depth. The 28-year-old can cover all four infield positions and has slashed .257/.350/.371 across 41 major-league plate appearances this season, though he doesn't have a clear pathway to regular playing time.
