Yoshida will serve as the designated hitter and bat sixth against the Yankees on Sunday, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.
Although the Yankees are sending southpaw Carlos Rodon to the mound Sunday, the lefty-hitting Yoshida will be in the lineup while Rob Refsnyder (wrist) remains sidelined. Yoshida is slashing .198/.283/.302 with two home runs and 13 RBI across 99 plate appearances against left-handed pitchers this season.
