Lopez elected free agency Wednesday.
The veteran infielder cleared waivers after being scrubbed from the Cubs' 40-man roster, but he'll seek a gig elsewhere rather than accepting an outright assignment to Triple-A Iowa. Between stints in the big leagues with the Angels and Cubs this season, Lopez has gone 1-for-24 at the plate.
