The Dodgers released Sauer on Wednesday.
Sauer cleared waivers after being designated for assignment, and the Dodgers have now elected to cut him loose. The 26-year-old has spent most of the season at Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he held a 5.86 ERA and 1.54 WHIP over 83 innings.
