The Pirates released Lamb on Tuesday, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.
Lamb triggered the transaction via an opt-out clause in his minor-league contract. The 33-year-old is slashing .289/.380/.416 with four home runs in 55 games with Triple-A Indianapolis this season. Lamb will now look to latch on with another organization.
