The Royals released Biggio on Friday.
Biggio was DFA'd by Kansas City last week after he slashed .174/.296/.246 with one home run, four RBI, nine runs scored, one stolen base and an 11:21 BB:K across 83 plate appearances at the major-league level this season. The 30-year-old will look for a new opportunity elsewhere.
