Zimmerman cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Nashville on Saturday.
Zimmerman was brought up to the big-league roster for a spot start Tuesday and was designated for assignment afterward. The 30-year-old will stick around in the Brewers organization after being outrighted. Zimmerman allowed six runs (five earned) across six innings during the recent start.
