Wyoming vs. Hawaii: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Wyoming vs. Hawaii football game
The Wyoming Cowboys will be returning home after a two-game road trip. The Cowboys and the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors will face off in a Mountain West battle at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday at Jonah Field at War Memorial Stadium. Keep an eye on the score for this one: these two teams posted some lofty points totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they meet.
When you finish with 223 more yards than your opponent like Wyoming did last week, a favorable outcome is almost sure to follow. They put the hurt on the Utah State Aggies with a sharp 44-17 victory. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Wyoming had established a 41-17 advantage. RB Titus Swen had a stellar game for the Cowboys as he rushed for two TDs and 169 yards on 15 carries. One of the most memorable plays of the contest was Swen's 98-yard touchdown rush in the third quarter. Swen's sharp performance set his single-game rushing touchdown high for the season.
Special teams collected 14 points for Wyoming. K John Hoyland delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game. One of the most memorable scores? A 99-yard kickoff return for touchdown from CB Cameron Stone in the first quarter.
Meanwhile, don't be fooled by the insanely high score: we promise Hawaii and the Colorado State Rams were playing football. Hawaii got past the Rams with less than a touchdown to spare, ending up at 50-45. Hawaii QB Chevan Cordeiro was slinging it as he passed for two TDs and 406 yards on 41 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 34 yards. Cordeiro hadn't helped his team much against the UNLV Rebels two weeks ago, so this was a nice turnaround for him.
The Rainbow Warriors' defense was a presence as well, as it got past Colorado State's offensive line to sack QB Todd Centeio five times for a total loss of 31 yards. Leading the way was LB Darius Muasau and his two sacks. Muasau now has four sacks through 12 games.
The Cowboys are the favorite in this one, with an expected 10.5-point margin of victory. But bettors beware: they are only 1-3 against the spread when favored.
The wins brought Wyoming up to 6-5 and Hawaii to 5-7. A pair of numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: Wyoming is stumbling into the matchup with the 220th most thrown interceptions in the nation, having thrown 12 on the season. Hawaii has experienced some struggles of their own as they are 244th worst in the nation in thrown interceptions, having thrown 15 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
