Wisconsin vs. Northwestern Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Wisconsin vs. Northwestern football game
After a two-game homestand, the Northwestern Wildcats will be on the road. Northwestern and the Wisconsin Badgers will face off in a Big Ten battle at noon ET on Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium. Wisconsin should still be feeling good after a victory, while the Wildcats will be looking to get back in the win column.
Northwestern was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last week as they fell 17-12 to the Iowa Hawkeyes. QB Andrew Marty had a memorable game, but not in the way you want to be remembered: despite one touchdown, he threw three interceptions.
Meanwhile, when you finish with 374 more yards than your opponent like Wisconsin did last week, a favorable outcome is almost sure to follow. They steamrolled past the Rutgers Scarlet Knights 52-3 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-3. It was another big night for Wisconsin's RB Braelon Allen, who rushed for one TD and 129 yards on 15 carries.
The Badgers' defense was a presence as well, as it collected three interceptions and one fumble. Those interceptions were spread across their defensive unit.
The Wildcats are the clear underdogs, so they're hoping it's the size of the fight that determines this one. Those who got lucky with them against the spread last week might want to hold off on placing bets this time since the squad has yet to string together back-to-back wins against the spread.
Northwestern is now 3-6 while Wisconsin sits at a mirror-image 6-3. A couple numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: Northwestern is stumbling into the matchup with the 194th most thrown interceptions in the nation, having thrown eight on the season. The Badgers have experienced some struggles of their own as they are 219th worst in the nation in thrown interceptions, having thrown ten on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
