Wisconsin vs. Eastern Michigan: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Wisconsin vs. Eastern Michigan football game
Game Recap
The Wisconsin Badgers ran circles around the Eastern Michigan Eagles on Saturday, and the extra yardage (516 yards vs. 91 yards) paid off. Wisconsin was the clear victor by a 34-7 margin over EMU.
The Badgers' offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 24 points in the first half. Meanwhile, the Eagles couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 24 to nothing heading into the break. The Wisconsin defense was impenetrable in the third quarter, shutting them out and essentially clinching the game.
It might not have been close, but the contest didn't lack excitement. Wisconsin's RB Isaac Guerendo penetrated the defense for an 82-yard TD rush in the second quarter. EMU also got in on the action, as DB David Carter Jr. swiped an interception and returned it 98 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. The game leaves both teams with the exact same record at 1-1.
Wisconsin will have some time to rest before their next matchup, which is against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at noon ET in two weeks at Soldier Field. EMU is on the road again next Saturday and plays against the Massachusetts Minutemen at 3:30 p.m. ET Sept. 18 at Warren P. McGuirk Alumni Stadium. Like the Eagles, UMass is looking to wash their mouths of the taste of defeat after falling 45-28 to the Boston College Eagles.
