Western Michigan vs. Miami of Ohio updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Western Michigan vs. Miami (OH) football game
Western Michigan will be in front of their home fans on Saturday, but a look at the spread shows they might need that home-field advantage. They will take on the Miami of Ohio RedHawks at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. Western Michigan will really need to gear up for this challenge, as Miami of Ohio will be their toughest opponent yet.
Last Saturday, Western Michigan couldn't handle Mississippi State and fell 41-28.
Despite the defeat, Western Michigan got a solid performance out of Hayden Wolff, who threw for 262 yards and three touchdowns while completing 77.1% of his passes.
Meanwhile, Miami of Ohio had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five. They steamrolled past Bowling Green 27-0 at home.
Miami of Ohio can attribute much of their success to Kenny Tracy, who gained 110 total yards and a touchdown, and Brett Gabbert, who threw for 170 yards and two touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes.
Miami of Ohio's win bumped their season record to 5-1 while Western Michigan's defeat dropped theirs to 2-4.
While only Miami of Ohio took care of their fans the last time they played, both teams pleased bettors by covering the spread. Looking ahead, they are the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by eight points. This will be Western Michigan's first time playing as the underdogs at home this season.
Western Michigan didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Miami of Ohio in their previous meeting last October, but they still walked away with a 16-10 victory. Will Western Michigan repeat their success, or does Miami of Ohio have a better game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
