Live scores, highlights and updates from the Western Michigan vs. Illinois State football game
Game Recap
The Western Michigan Broncos got themselves on the board against the Illinois State Redbirds on Saturday, but Illinois State never followed suit. WMU put the hurt on the Redbirds with a sharp 28 to nothing win. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point WMU had established a 28 to nothing advantage.
The game leaves both teams with the exact same record at 1-1.
WMU will take on the Pittsburgh Panthers at noon ET next Saturday at Heinz Field. Pitt is also hoping to continue their momentum after a 41-34 victory over the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday. The Redbirds are staying on the road next Saturday to face off against the Eastern Illinois Panthers at 7 p.m. ET Sept. 18 at O'Brien Stadium. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so their meeting could be a low-scoring affair.
