West Virginia vs. Texas Tech Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game

The West Virginia Mountaineers and the Texas Tech Red Raiders will face off in a Big 12 clash at 3:30 p.m. ET Oct. 2 at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W.'

West Virginia scored first but ultimately less than the Oklahoma Sooners in their matchup last week. It was close but no cigar for the Mountaineers as they fell 16-13 to Oklahoma. QB Jarret Doege had a memorable game, but not in the way you want to be remembered: besides failing to produce a single touchdown, he threw one interception with only 160 yards passing.

West Virginia's defense was a presence, as it got past Oklahoma's offensive line to sack QB Spencer Rattler four times for a total loss of 13 yards. Leading the way was DL Taijh Alston and his two sacks. Alston now has 3.5 sacks through four games.

Meanwhile, the day started off rough for Texas Tech last week, and it ended that way, too. They were completely outmatched by the Texas Longhorns on the road and fell 70-35. The Red Raiders were in a tough position by the half, with the score already sitting at 42-14. QB Henry Colombi put forth a good effort for the losing side as he passed for three TDs and 324 yards on 23 attempts. Near the top of the highlight reel was Colombi's 75-yard TD bomb to WR Kaylon Geiger Sr. in the third quarter.

The Mountaineers are the favorite in this one, with an expected 7-point margin of victory. They might be worth taking a chance on against the spread as they are currently on a two-game streak of ATS wins.

West Virginia is now 2-2 while the Red Raiders sit at 3-1. A couple defensive stats to keep an eye on: West Virginia is 159th worst in the nation in passing touchdowns allowed, with six on the season. Texas Tech has experienced some passing struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the game with the 237th most passing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up ten on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
