The Washington State Cougars head home again on Saturday, but with the point spread against them by 8.5 points, it might not be quite the welcoming they would prefer. Washington State and the USC Trojans will face off in a Pac-12 battle at 3:30 p.m. ET at Clarence D. Martin Stadium. The Cougars will be strutting in after a win while USC will be stumbling in from a loss.
Washington State didn't have too much trouble with the Portland State Vikings at home last week as they won 44-24. Washington State QB Jayden de Laura was slinging it as he passed for two TDs and 284 yards on 26 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown.
Meanwhile, USC might not have won anyway, but with 94 yards lost due to penalties, they really shot themselves in the foot last week. They fell to the Stanford Cardinal 42-28. USC was down 35-13 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. No one had a standout game offensively for the Trojans, but they got scores from WR Drake London, RB Keaontay Ingram, and RB Darwin Barlow.
The Cougars suffered a grim 38-13 defeat to USC when the two teams previously met in December of last year. Maybe Washington State will have more luck at home instead of on the road? Watch the contest and check back on CBS Sports for all the details.
