Wake Forest vs. Vanderbilt updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Wake Forest vs. Vanderbilt football game
Vanderbilt have enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they must head out on the road. They will take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons at 11:00 a.m. ET on Saturday at Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium. The pair come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Saturday, Vanderbilt strolled past Alabama A&M with points to spare, taking the game 47-13. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Vanderbilt had established a 16 point advantage.
Meanwhile, Wake Forest gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. Wake Forest walked away with a 37-17 win over Elon. The over/under was set at 53.5 points, so nice work oddsmakers; you were right on the money.
Special teams played a big role in the game, adding 13 points to the final score. All those points came courtesy of K Matthew Dennis: he added nine points with three field goals, and another four kicking extra points.
Vanderbilt will need to dig deep on Saturday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. They finished last season with a 5-7 record against the spread.
Vanderbilt came up short against Wake Forest in their previous matchup last September, falling 45-25. Can Vanderbilt avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
