Virginia vs. James Madison Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Virginia vs. James Madison football game
The Virginia Cavaliers will be playing in front of their home fans against the James Madison Dukes at 12:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at David A. Harrison III Field at Scott Stadium.
Virginia had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 49-13 bruising from Tennessee. Virginia was down 35-10 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
The Cavaliers had trouble moving the ball and finished the game with only 201 total yards. They were demolished by their opponents in that department as Tennessee gained 499.
Meanwhile, James Madison gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 38-3 win over Bucknell. Winning is a bit easier when you rush for 199 more yards than your opponent, as James Madison did.
Virginia will need to dig deep on Saturday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. They finished last season with a 4-6 record against the spread.
That disadvantage in the odds might be especially worrying for Virginia considering the team was a sub-par 1-6 as the underdog last season. A bettor who placed a $100 dollar bet on them to lose every one of the 12 games they played last year would have netted $805.88. On the other hand, James Madison will play as the favorite, and the team was 7-2 as such last season.
