The Virginia Cavaliers brought a two-game winning streak into their game against the Abilene Christian Wildcats on Saturday; they left with a three-game streak. Virginia steamrolled past Abilene Christian 55-15 at home. That 40-point margin sets a new team best for the Cavaliers on the season.
Virginia's QB Brennan Armstrong was on fire, passing for four TDs and 383 yards on 23 attempts in addition to picking up 52 yards on the ground. That was the first 300+ yard effort for Armstrong this season. Virginia's LB D'Sean Perry got in on the action, too, converting a pick in the fourth quarter into a touchdown.
No one had a standout game offensively for Abilene Christian, but they got scores from WR Kobe Clark and QB Stone Earle.
The win got Virginia back to even at 4-4. This is the second loss in a row for the Wildcats and nudges their record down to 1-5.
The Cavaliers will take on the Florida State Seminoles at noon ET next Saturday at Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium. Unlike Virginia, FSU will be stumbling in off of a defeat. As for Abilene Christian, their regular season is over.
