Vanderbilt vs. Stanford: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Vanderbilt vs. Stanford football game
Game Recap
You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for the Stanford Cardinal on Saturday. They took down the Vanderbilt Commodores 41-23.
Stanford QB Tanner McKee was slinging it as he passed for two TDs and 218 yards on 29 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown.
No one had a standout game offensively for the Commodores, but they got scores from a handful of players including WR Cam Johnson, DB Mike Wright, and RB Re'Mahn Davis.
The matchup brought Stanford to 2-1 and dropped Vanderbilt to a mirror-image 1-2.
Stanford will take on the UCLA Bruins at 6 p.m. ET next Saturday at Stanford Stadium. If the contest is anything like Stanford's 48-47 victory from their previous meeting in December of last year, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy. Vanderbilt will stay at home against the Georgia Bulldogs at noon ET Sept. 25 at Vanderbilt Stadium.
