Game Recap
A well-balanced attack led the LSU Tigers over the Vanderbilt Commodores every single quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. LSU took their game against Vanderbilt by a conclusive 41-7 score. This was a must-win matchup for LSU as they bounced back from a huge upset against the Mississippi State Bulldogs last week.
LSU QB Myles Brennan was slinging it as he passed for four TDs and 337 yards on 37 attempts. Near the top of the highlight reel was Brennan's 51-yard TD bomb to WR Terrace Marshall Jr. in the second quarter. WR Jontre Kirklin also deserves a shout-out for his two TDs.
No one had a standout game offensively for the Commodores, but they got one touchdown from TE Ben Bresnahan.
The win bumped LSU's record up to 0-1. Vanderbilt's loss pushed them down to an identical 0-1.
LSU will take on the Missouri Tigers at 9 p.m. ET next Saturday at home. Unlike LSU, Mizzou will be limping in after taking a loss. Vanderbilt will stay at home against the South Carolina Gamecocks at noon ET Oct. 10 at Vanderbilt Stadium. USC also suffered a recent defeat, falling 38-24 to the Florida Gators on Saturday.
