UTSA vs. UAB updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the UTSA vs. UAB football game
The UTSA Roadrunners are 0-4 against the UAB Blazers since November of 2017, but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. UTSA and UAB will face off in a Conference USA battle at 3:30 p.m. ET at Alamodome. The Roadrunners are out to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
It was all tied up 10-10 at the half for UTSA and the Southern Miss Golden Eagles last week, but UTSA stepped up in the second half for a 27-17 victory. QB Frank Harris and WR Joshua Cephus were among the main playmakers for UTSA as the former passed for two TDs and 227 yards on 30 attempts in addition to picking up 54 yards on the ground and the latter caught eight passes for one TD and 106 yards.
Meanwhile, the Blazers bagged a 21-14 win over the Marshall Thundering Herd last week. It was another big night for UAB's RB DeWayne McBride, who rushed for two TDs and 108 yards on 25 carries.
The Roadrunners are the favorite in this one, with an expected 4.5-point margin of victory. Those burned by picking them against the spread last week might want to keep in mind that the squad has not yet dropped back-to-back games against the spread this season.
The wins brought UTSA up to 10-0 and UAB to 7-3. Two defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: UTSA is stumbling into the matchup with the 199th most passing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 18 on the season. UAB has experienced some passing struggles of their own as they are 218th worst in the nation in passing touchdowns allowed, with 20 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
