UTSA vs. Rice: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the UTSA vs. Rice football game
Game Recap
The UTSA Roadrunners got themselves on the board against the Rice Owls on Saturday, but Rice never followed suit. UTSA claimed a resounding 45 to nothing victory over the Owls at home. With the Roadrunners ahead 31 to nothing at the half, the contest was all but over already.
It might not have been close, but the game didn't lack excitement. UTSA's LB Trevor Harmanson took an interception 40 yards right to the end zone in the second quarter. In another great play for the team, CB Corey Mayfield Jr. swiped an interception and returned it 49 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter.
UTSA's win brought them up to 7-0. Rice's overall record fell to 2-4.
The Roadrunners will take on the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs at 7 p.m. ET next Saturday at Joe Aillet Stadium. Unlike UTSA, Louisiana Tech will be limping in after taking a loss. The Owls are on the road again next Saturday and play against the UAB Blazers at 3:30 p.m. ET Oct. 23 at Protective Stadium. UAB is 2-2 after wins this season, and Rice is 1-2 after losses.
