The North Texas Mean Green won the last time they faced the UTEP Miners, and things went their way on Saturday, too. North Texas strolled past UTEP with points to spare, taking the contest 31-13.
After a totally unproductive first quarter, the North Texas offense stepped up its game and put 14 points on the board in the second quarter. The Miners were right behind to make the score 14-13 heading into the break. The offense for the Mean Green continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 17 points to put the game away. The matchup pushed UTEP down to 0-1 and pulled North Texas up to the reverse at 1-0.
North Texas will take on the SMU Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Apogee Stadium. As for UTEP, they will go up against the Oklahoma Sooners at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. The Miners fans better hope the squad plays one heck of a game as the odds are decidedly against them.
