Live scores, highlights and updates from the Utah State vs. James Madison football game
The James Madison Dukes will head out on the road to face off against the Utah State Aggies at 8:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Merlin Olsen Field at Maverik Stadium. Coming in fresh off a win as the underdog, James Madison will stroll into this one as the favorite.
James Madison extended their game-winning streak to six on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 16-14 victory over Troy.
James Madison's defense stepped up, laying out the QB six times. Leading the way was Mikail Kamara and his two sacks.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed ten in total. All those points came courtesy of Camden Wise: he added nine points with three field goals, and another one kicking extra points.
Meanwhile, Utah State ended up a good deal behind Air Force on Friday and lost 39-21.
QB McCae Hillstead put forth a good effort for the losing side as he threw for 202 yards and three touchdowns. Hillstead set a new season high mark in passer rating with 166.2.
Utah State will need to dig deep on Saturday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. This will be their first time playing as the underdogs at home this season.
James Madison's victory on Saturday bumped their overall record up to 3-0. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Troy, Virginia, and Old Dominion. Meanwhile, Utah State's defeat on Friday dropped their record down to 1-2.
