UNLV vs. Colorado State updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the UNLV vs. Colorado State football game
Colorado State is 3-0 against UNLV since November of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Colorado State Rams will head out on the road to face off against the UNLV Rebels at 7:00 p.m. ET at Allegiant Stadium. UNLV is favored, but seeing as the odds didn't stop Colorado State in their last game, maybe the squad has another upset up their sleeve.
Colorado State gave up the first points last Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They pulled ahead with a 31-30 photo finish over Boise State. The win was all the more spectacular given Colorado State was down 20 points with 6:12 left in the fourth quarter.
Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi was the offensive standout of the matchup as he threw for 359 yards and three touchdowns. Colorado State also got help from Dylan Goffney who showed off his sure hands for 85 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, UNLV had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They took down Nevada 45-27. UNLV pushed the score to 38-14 by the end of the third, a deficit Nevada cut but never quite recovered from.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead UNLV to victory, but perhaps none more so than Donavyn Lester, who rushed for 99 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. Lester was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 66 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Maiava, who threw for 267 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.
Their wins bumped Colorado State to 3-4 and UNLV to 6-1.
Not only did both teams in this Saturday's contest win their last matches, they also took care of their bettors and covered the spread. Looking forward, UNLV is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by six points. Bettors picking Colorado State against the spread have some confidence (to put it mildly), as the team is sitting on a four-game streak of failing to cover when playing as the underdog.
