UNC vs. UVA Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game

Through 2 Quarters

Down 14 at the end of last quarter, the Virginia Cavaliers have now snagged the lead. It's anybody's game at halftime, but Virginia is ahead of the North Carolina Tar Heels 28-24. The Cavaliers have enjoyed the tag-team combination of WR Dontayvion Wicks and QB Brennan Armstrong. The former has caught six passes for one TD and 161 yards, while the latter has passed for three TDs and 364 yards on 27 attempts.

Virginia and UNC came into this game with previous-game wins. We'll see if Virginia can maintain their lead to polish off another win and cancel out North Carolina's positive energy.

Who's Playing

Virginia @ No. 13 North Carolina

Current Records: Virginia 2-0; North Carolina 1-1

What to Know

The North Carolina Tar Heels have been on the wrong side of a one-way rivalry with the Virginia Cavaliers and are hoping to record their first win since Oct. 22 of 2016. UNC and Virginia will face off in an ACC battle at 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday at Kenan Memorial Stadium. After both teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one of them is set up to suffer a discouraging change of fortune.

When you finish with 345 more yards than your opponent like the Tar Heels did last week, a favorable outcome is almost sure to follow. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 59-17 victory over the Georgia State Panthers. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point UNC had established a 45-10 advantage. QB Sam Howell went supernova for UNC as he passed for three TDs and 352 yards on 29 attempts in addition to rushing for two TDs and 104 yards. Howell had some trouble finding his footing against the Virginia Tech Hokies two weeks ago, so this was a step in the right direction.

Meanwhile, Virginia was no stranger to outgunning their opponent yards-wise, either, with 557 yards compared to the Illinois Fighting Illini's 331 last week. The Cavaliers were the clear victors by a 42-14 margin over the Fighting Illini. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Virginia had established a 35-14 advantage. Their QB Brennan Armstrong was on fire, passing for five TDs and 405 yards on 36 attempts in addition to picking up 31 yards on the ground.

Their wins bumped the Tar Heels to 1-1 and Virginia to 2-0. Both UNC and Virginia have easy wins in recent memory. We'll see which one's ego takes a hit when they face off.
