UMass vs. Miami of Ohio: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Massachusetts vs. Miami (OH) football game
After two games on the road, UMass is heading back home. They will take on the Miami of Ohio RedHawks at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
On Saturday, UMass suffered a brutal 59-14 loss at the hands of Auburn.
Meanwhile, it's hard to win when you post 278 fewer total yards than your opponent, a fact Miami of Ohio found out the hard way on Friday. They lost to Miami (FL) on the road by a decisive 38-3 margin. The last quarter was a mere formality, since it was already 24-3 by the end of the third quarter.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, the RedHawks had trouble moving the ball and finished the game with only 215 total yards. They were smoked by their opponents in that department as Miami (FL) gained 493.
UMass will need to dig deep on Saturday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. They finished last season with a 5-7 record against the spread.
That disadvantage in the odds might be especially worrying for UMass considering the team didn't win a single game as the underdog last year. While their fans probably aren't happy about it, betting on the team to lose was the smart play last year, and bettors who put $100 on that outcome every game finished the season up $1,065.63. On the other hand, Miami of Ohio will play as the favorite, and the team was 3-2 as such last season.
