Live scores, highlights and updates from the Louisiana-Monroe vs. Arkansas State football game
UL Monroe is 0-8 against Arkansas State since November of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The UL Monroe Warhawks will look to defend their home field against the Arkansas State Red Wolves at 5:00 p.m. ET at JPS Field at James L. Malone Stadium. UL Monroe is limping into the match on a five-game losing streak.
UL Monroe traveled a rocky road last season, and unfortunately for them the road hasn't gotten any smoother. They fell 38-28 to Georgia Southern on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Arkansas State couldn't handle Coastal Carolina on Saturday and fell 27-17. Arkansas State has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Arkansas State's defeat came about despite a quality game from Jaylen Raynor, who threw for 306 yards and two touchdowns. Courtney Jackson was another key contributor, picking up 99 receiving yards and a touchdown.
UL Monroe's defeat was their fourth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's lackluster offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.8 points per game. As for Arkansas State, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Not only did Arkansas State and UL Monroe lose their last games, but neither team managed to cover the spread. Going forward, UL Monroe is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by two points. Arkansas State might be worth a quick bet since they've covered the spread the last five times they've played UL Monroe.
UL Monroe lost to Arkansas State at home by a decisive 45-28 margin when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will UL Monroe have more luck at home instead of on the road?
