Live scores, highlights and updates from the UCLA vs. Arizona State football game
Game Recap
After losing to the UCLA Bruins the last time they met, the Arizona State Sun Devils decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. ASU captured a comfortable 42-23 win on Saturday.
The Sun Devils took a little while to warm up, but they followed up a slow three-point first quarter with 21 points in the second. UCLA was right behind to make the score 24-23 heading into the break. The offense for ASU continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 18 points to put the game away.
ASU QB Jayden Daniels was slinging it as he passed for two TDs and 286 yards on 18 attempts in addition to picking up 45 yards on the ground. Near the top of the highlight reel was Daniels' 65-yard TD bomb to WR Ricky Pearsall in the second quarter. RB Rachaad White was in the mix, too, providing ASU with two touchdowns.
QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he passed for one TD and 235 yards on 32 attempts in addition to picking up 93 yards on the ground.
The victory bumped ASU's record up to 4-1. The Bruins' overall record fell to 3-2.
The Sun Devils will square off against the Stanford Cardinal at 10:30 p.m. ET next Friday at Sun Devil Stadium, Frank Kush Field. Like ASU, Stanford is also coming into the matchup bolstered by a recent win. As for UCLA, they will face off against the Arizona Wildcats at 10:30 p.m. ET next Saturday at Arizona Stadium. Like UCLA, Arizona is looking to wash their mouths of the taste of defeat after falling 41-19 to the Oregon Ducks.
