UCF vs. East Carolina: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the UCF vs. East Carolina football game
Game Recap
RB Mark-Antony Richards had a quiet outing against the Navy Midshipmen last week, but he sure didn't disappoint on Saturday. RB Johnny Richardson rushed for one TD and 104 yards on 16 carries as the UCF Knights beat the East Carolina Pirates 20-16. One of those touchdowns came with 0:27 remaining to put UCF in the lead for good.
In addition to Richardson, the Knights got help from Richardson, who rushed for one TD and 104 yards on 16 carries.
No one had a standout game offensively for East Carolina, but they got one touchdown from QB Holton Ahlers.
The win bumped UCF's record up to 3-2. The loss dropped East Carolina back to even at 3-3.
UCF will take on the Cincinnati Bearcats at noon ET next Saturday at Nippert Stadium. The Knights will need a sterling offensive performance if they want to penetrate an unbending defense that has allowed an average of only 12.2 points per game. The Pirates can take some time to mend their wounds since their next matchup isn't for a while. They will face the Houston Cougars at TDECU Stadium at 1 p.m. ET in two weeks. Houston is 4-0 after wins this year, and East Carolina is 1-1 after losses.
