Live scores, highlights and updates from the UAB vs. UTSA football game
Game Recap
The UTSA Roadrunners were hampered by 110 penalty yards against the UAB Blazers Saturday. UTSA fell to UAB 21-13. If the Roadrunners were hoping to take revenge for the 33-14 loss against the Blazers when the teams met earlier this month, then they were left disappointed.
RB Spencer Brown was the offensive standout of the game for UAB, picking up 150 yards on the ground on 27 carries. Brown's longest run was for 73 yards in the first quarter. TE Gerrit Prince was in the mix, too, providing UAB with two touchdowns.
UTSA's defeat came about despite a quality game from RB Sincere McCormick, who rushed for one TD and 150 yards on 22 carries.
UTSA's loss pushed them down to 3-0. The Blazers' win brought them up to 2-1.
The Roadrunners are on the road again next week and play against the BYU Cougars at 3:30 p.m. ET Oct. 10 at LaVell Edwards Stadium. BYU has averaged 49.33 points over the course of their past three games, so UTSA might be in for a challenge. UAB will have some time to savor their victory since their next contest is a little ways off; they will square off against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers at Legion Field at 1 p.m. ET in two weeks.
