Tulane vs. South Florida updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Tulane vs. South Florida football game
The South Florida Bulls have enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they must head out on the road. South Florida and the Tulane Green Wave will face off in an American Athletic battle at noon ET on Saturday at Benson Field at Yulman Stadium. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W.'
The matchup between the Bulls and the Cincinnati Bearcats last week was not particularly close, with South Florida falling 45-28. No one had a standout game offensively for South Florida, but they got scores from RB Jaren Mangham and WR Jimmy Horn Jr.. One of the most thrilling moments was Horn Jr.'s 80-yard TD reception in the third quarter.
Meanwhile, Tulane fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane last week but wound up with a less-than-desirable result, falling 20-13. RB Tyjae Spears put forth a good effort for the losing side as he picked up 104 yards on the ground on 14 carries.
Tulane's defense was a force to be reckoned with, as it collected three interceptions and two fumbles. Those interceptions were spread across their defensive unit.
The Bulls are expected to lose this next one by 5.5. The smart bettors have been the ones to keep their money on South Florida's opponents whenever they hit the road.
The losses put South Florida at 2-8 and the Green Wave at 1-9. Two defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: South Florida is 237th worst in the nation in touchdowns allowed, with 46 on the season. Tulane has experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the contest with the 244th most passing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 25 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
