Tulane vs. Ole Miss: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Tulane vs. Ole Miss football game
The Tulane Green Wave will look to defend their home turf on Saturday against the Ole Miss Rebels at 3:30 p.m. ET at Benson Field at Yulman Stadium. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more against one another.
Tulane gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They took their contest against South Alabama 37-17. Winning is a bit easier when you're consistent on offense and advance 3.9 more yards per play than your opponent, as Tulane did.
Special teams played a big role in the game, adding 13 points to the final score. All those points came courtesy of K Valentino Ambrosio: he added nine points with three field goals, and another four kicking extra points.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Ole Miss over Mercer in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Ole Miss blew Mercer out of the water with a 73-7 final score. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Ole Miss had established a 59 point advantage.
Ole Miss' success was spearheaded by the efforts of WR Tre Harris, who found the endzone four times on 133 receiving yards, and QB Jaxson Dart, who threw for 334 yards and four touchdowns on 23 attempts. Dart wound up with a passer rating of 257.6. RB Ulysses Bentley IV did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of six receiving yards.
Tulane will need to dig deep on Saturday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. They finished last season with a stellar 12-2 record against the spread, so they might be worth a quick bet.
Even though the team is expected to lose, Tulane was a solid 2-0 as the underdog last season, so don't count them out. Green Wave fans who chose to bet on their team sure did well last year: betting $100 on them to win every matchup netted those bettors $1,990.47. On the other hand, Ole Miss will play as the favorite, and the team was 8-2 as such last season.
