Game Recap
If the Texas State Bobcats were expecting to get some payback for the 63-27 loss against the Troy Trojans when they previously met last November, then they were left disappointed. The contest between them two weeks ago was not particularly close, with the Bobcats falling 37-17. That's the fewest points they have scored all year.
Troy QB Gunnar Watson was slinging it as he passed for four TDs and 338 yards on 46 attempts. WR Reggie Todd was in the mix, too, providing Troy with two touchdowns.
No one had a standout game offensively for Texas State, but they got scores from TE Blake Aragon and RB Jahmyl Jeter.
This is the second loss in a row for the Bobcats and nudges their record down to 1-4. The victory bumped Troy's record up to 2-1.
Texas State is staying on the road last week to face off against the South Alabama Jaguars at noon ET Oct. 17 at Hancock Whitney Stadium. Texas State's scoring has been on the decline the past three games, which is obviously a trend South Alabama hopes will continue. The Trojans will stay at home against the Eastern Kentucky Colonels at 3:30 p.m. ET Oct. 17 at Larry Blakeney Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Troy is 0-1 after wins this season, and Eastern Kentucky is 1-1 after losses.
