Live scores, highlights and updates from the Toledo vs. Eastern Michigan football game
The Eastern Michigan Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Toledo Rockets at 7:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday at Glass Bowl. Eastern Michigan is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Eastern Michigan gave up the first points and the most points on Saturday. They suffered a bruising 45-21 defeat at the hands of Western Michigan.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jaylon Jackson, who picked up 111 receiving yards and a touchdown. Jackson was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 68 yards. Samson Evans was in the mix too, providing Eastern Michigan with two touchdowns.
The Eagles weren't very productive on the ground and finished the game with only 28 rushing yards. They were destroyed by their opponents in that department as Western Michigan rushed for 252.
Meanwhile, Toledo entered their tilt with Buffalo with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Toledo took down Buffalo 31-13 on Tuesday.
Toledo's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Peny Boone, who rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
Western Michigan's victory bumped their season record to 3-6 while Eastern Michigan's defeat dropped theirs to 4-5.
Eastern Michigan couldn't quite finish off Toledo when the teams last played back in October of 2022 and fell 27-24. Can Eastern Michigan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
