Get ready for a Big 12 battle as the Texas Longhorns and the Baylor Bears will face off at noon ET on Friday at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium/Jamail Field. With a combined 1,040 yards of offense in their previous games, we can expect a fast-paced contest.
You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Texas this past Saturday. They were fully in charge, breezing past the Kansas Jayhawks 55-14 on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31 to nothing. RB Bijan Robinson had a dynamite game for the Longhorns; he rushed for four TDs and 243 yards on 25 carries. Robinson's performance made up for a slower game against the TCU Horned Frogs two weeks ago. Not surprisingly, Robinson's sharp performance set his single-game rushing touchdown high for the season.
Meanwhile, it was all tied up 14-14 at halftime, but Baylor was not quite TCU's equal in the second half when they met this past Saturday. It could have gone either way late during winning time for Baylor or TCU, but it was the Horned Frogs snatching the 29-28 win. The defeat was just more heartbreak for the Bears, who fell 30-28 when the teams previously met last November. No one had a standout game offensively for Baylor, but they got scores from TE Kelsey Johnson, RB Richard Reese, and RB Qualan Jones.
The Longhorns are the favorite in this one, with an expected 8.5-point margin of victory. They have been consistent moneymakers against the spread when favored (6-3), so they might be worth a quick bet.
