Texas Tech vs. Kansas State: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Texas Tech vs. Kansas State football game
The Texas Tech Red Raiders are 1-5 against the Kansas State Wildcats since November of 2015, but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. Texas Tech and K-State will face off in a Big 12 battle at noon ET at Jones AT&T Stadium. The Red Raiders should still be riding high after a big win, while the Wildcats will be looking to right the ship.
Texas Tech made easy work of the Kansas Jayhawks last week and carried off a 41-14 victory. With Texas Tech ahead 24 to nothing at the half, the contest was all but over already. No one had a standout game offensively for Texas Tech, but they got scores from a handful of players including QB Henry Colombi, WR Myles Price, and WR Erik Ezukanma.
Meanwhile, K-State came up short against the Iowa State Cyclones last week, falling 33-20. The Wildcats were down 27-7 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. Like the Red Raiders, K-State didn't have any clear offensive standouts, but they got scores from WR Malik Knowles and WR Phillip Brooks.
This next matchup is expected to be close, with Texas Tech going off at just a 1-point favorite. Those who got lucky with them against the spread last week might want to hold off on placing bets this time since the squad has yet to string together back-to-back wins against the spread.
Texas Tech is now 5-2 while K-State sits at 3-3. Two defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: The Red Raiders are 235th worst in the nation in touchdowns allowed, with 26 on the season. K-State has experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the game with the 178th most passing yards allowed per game in the nation, having given up 248.2 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
