Tennessee vs. Virginia updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Tennessee vs. Virginia football game
The Tennessee Volunteers will host the Virginia Cavaliers to start their respective 2023 campaigns. Kickoff is scheduled at 12:00 p.m. ET on September 2nd at Nissan Stadium.
Looking back to last season, Virginia finished on the wrong side of .500 (3-7), but they'll be hoping to turn things around this year. On the other hand, Tennessee finished a solid 11-2 in the regular season last year, and they capped off their season with a 31-14 win in the Orange Bowl.
Virginia will be fighting an uphill battle on Saturday as the experts have pegged them as the 27.5-point underdog. They finished last season with a 4-6 record against the spread.
That disadvantage in the odds might be especially worrying for Virginia considering the team was a sub-par 1-6 as the underdog last season. A bettor who placed a $100 dollar bet on them to lose every one of the 12 games they played last year would have netted $805.88. Tennessee will open their season as the favorite, and the team was 8-1 as such last season.
