Tennessee vs. UT Martin Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Tennessee vs. UT Martin football game
The UT Martin Skyhawks watched the action from their couches last weekend, but are set to take to the field. They are staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Tennessee Volunteers at noon ET Oct. 22 at Neyland Stadium. The Skyhawks know how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Tennessee likes a good challenge.
If there were any doubts why UT Martin was a heavy favorite Saturday, the team quickly laid those doubts to rest. They blew past the Murray State Racers 45-16 two weeks ago.
Meanwhile, Tennessee's offense rose to the challenge against a Bama defense that boasted an average of only 12.5 points allowed. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 52-49 win over the Alabama Crimson Tide last week. Yes, you read that final score correctly. And yes, they were playing football. WR Jalin Hyatt had a dynamite game for Tennessee; he caught six passes for five TDs and 207 yards. One of the most thrilling moments was Hyatt's 78-yard TD reception in the fourth quarter.
Their wins bumped UT Martin to 4-2 and the Volunteers to 6-0. Given their high-scoring efforts against their previous opponents, it will be interesting to see how far up these teams can run up the score.
