UConn is staring down a pretty large 35-point disadvantage in the spread for Saturday's contest. They will head out on the road to face off against the Tennessee Volunteers at 12:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Neyland Stadium.
UConn might've scored the first points on Saturday, but it was Boston College who claimed the real prize. UConn fell 21-14 to Boston College. UConn has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, UConn got a solid performance out of Cam Edwards, who rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, the third road matchup was the charm for Tennessee, as they earned their first road win of the season. They secured a 33-27 W over Kentucky on Saturday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tennessee to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaylen Wright, who rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Wright was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 52 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Milton III, who threw for 228 yards and a touchdown while completing 85.7% of his passes.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Tennessee, racking up 15 points in total. All those points came courtesy of Charles Campbell: he added 12 points with four field goals, and another three kicking extra points.
Boston College's win bumped their season record to 5-3 while UConn's defeat dropped theirs to 1-7.
While only Tennessee took care of their fans the last time they played, both teams pleased bettors by covering the spread. Looking ahead, the game looks promising for Tennessee, as the team is favored by a full 35 points. For those looking to play the spread, take note: they are a solid 5-2 against the spread when expected to win.
