Temple vs. Navy: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Temple vs. Navy football game
Temple will be in front of their home fans on Saturday, but a look at the spread shows they might need that home-field advantage. The Temple Owls and the Navy Midshipmen will face off in an American Athletic battle at 2:00 p.m. ET at Lincoln Financial Field. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
Temple's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against SMU, falling 55-0. Temple was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, the Owls weren't very productive in the air and finished the game with only 107 passing yards. They were dismantled by their opponents in that department as SMU passed for 358.
Meanwhile, the defenses reigned supreme when Navy and Air Force played last Saturday, rewarding bettors who took the risk on the low 34-point over/under. Navy took a 17-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Air Force.
Temple's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's lackluster offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.7 points per game. As for Navy, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
In addition to losing their last games, Temple and Navy failed to cover the spread. Looking ahead, Navy is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by six points. This contest will be Temple's sixth straight as the underdogs (so far over this stretch they are 0-5 against the spread).
Temple came up short against Navy when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 27-20. Will Temple have more luck at home instead of on the road?
