Temple vs. Memphis updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Friday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Temple vs. Memphis football game
3rd Quarter Report
Memphis already has more points against Temple than they managed in total against SMU last Saturday. After three quarters Memphis' offense has really been able to impose its will, dominating Temple 35-14.
If Memphis keeps playing like this, they'll bump their record up to 9-3 in no time. On the other hand, Temple will have to make due with a 3-9 record unless they turn things around (and fast).
Preview
Temple has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Memphis Tigers at 12:00 p.m. ET on Friday. Temple is expected to lose this one by 11 points, so we'll see if that gives them a bit of motivation.
Temple might've scored the first points on Saturday, but it was UAB who claimed the real prize. Temple took a 34-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of UAB.
Despite their loss, Temple saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Dante Wright, who picked up 146 receiving yards and a touchdown, was perhaps the best of all. Wright's longest reception was for an incredible 71 yards. David Martin-Robinson was in the mix as well, providing Temple with two touchdowns.
The Owls weren't very productive on the ground and finished the game with only 55 rushing yards. They were smoked by their opponents in that department as UAB rushed for 259.
Meanwhile, Memphis unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell to SMU 38-34.
Despite the defeat, Memphis got a solid performance out of Seth Henigan, who threw for 402 yards and two touchdowns. Henigan is on a roll when it comes to passing yards, as he's now passed for 300 or more in the last four games he's played. Demeer Blankumsee also helped out as he racked up 114 receiving yards.
Temple's defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-8. That poor showing could be blamed on the team's lackluster offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.6 points per game. As for Memphis, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
In addition to losing their last games, Memphis and Temple failed to cover the spread. Looking forward, Memphis shouldn't be too worried about this matchup, as the experts have them favored by 11 points. They are a gamble against the spread as they sit with a 3-7-1 ATS record.
Temple suffered a grim 24-3 defeat to Memphis when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will Temple have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check CBS Sports after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more college football content.
