TCU vs. Texas Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the TCU vs. Texas football game
The Texas Longhorns are 1-5 against the TCU Horned Frogs since October of 2015, but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. Texas and TCU will face off in a Big 12 battle at noon ET at Amon G. Carter Stadium. The Longhorns will be strutting in after a victory while TCU will be stumbling in from a defeat.
Texas took their contest at home last week with ease, bagging a 70-35 win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders. With Texas ahead 42-14 at the half, the matchup was all but over already. QB Casey Thompson had a stellar game for Texas as he passed for five TDs and 304 yards on 23 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown. That was the first 300+ yard effort for Thompson this season.
Meanwhile, it was all tied up 21-21 at halftime, but the Horned Frogs were not quite the SMU Mustangs' equal in the second half when they met last week. TCU took a 42-34 hit to the loss column. RB Zach Evans put forth a good effort for the losing side as he picked up 113 yards on the ground on 15 carries in addition to snatching one receiving TD.
Texas is the favorite in this one, with an expected 5-point margin of victory. They have been consistent moneymakers against the spread when favored (3-0), so they might be worth a quick bet.
Texas' win brought them up to 3-1 while TCU's loss pulled them down to 2-1. Two defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: The Longhorns are 194th worst in the nation in rushing touchdowns allowed, with seven on the season. The Horned Frogs have experienced some rushing struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the game with the 173rd most rushing yards allowed per game in the nation, having given up 181.3 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
