Live scores, highlights and updates from the South Florida vs. UCF football game
Game Recap
The UCF Knights won the last time they met up with the South Florida Bulls, and they shouldn't regret having come to the reunion, either. The Knights were able to grind out a solid win over South Florida on Friday, winning 58-46.
UCF's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 31 points in the first half. South Florida wasn't quite able to keep up, and the score was 31-14 heading into the break. UCF was outperformed in the second half 32-27 but had enough points saved up to walk away with the win.
It was another big night for UCF's QB Dillon Gabriel, who passed for four TDs and 336 yards on 36 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown. RB Bentavious Thompson was in the mix, too, providing the Knights with two touchdowns.
UCF's defense was a presence as well, as it got past the Bulls' offensive line to sack QB Jordan McCloud four times for a total loss of ten yards. Leading the way was DL Landon Woodson and his three sacks. Those were the first sacks for Woodson through nine games.
McCloud put forth a good effort for the losing side as he passed for four TDs and 404 yards on 46 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown.
The victory improved the Knights' record to 6-3. The Bulls' defeat makes it eight in a row and drags their record down to 1-8. With that, the East Division playoffs come to an end.
