South Carolina vs. South Carolina State: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Thursday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the South Carolina vs. South Carolina State football game
The South Carolina Gamecocks' homestand continues as they prepare to take on the South Carolina State Bulldogs at 7 p.m. ET Sept. 29 at Williams-Brice Stadium. USC should still be feeling good after a victory, while South Carolina State will be looking to right the ship.
The Gamecocks ran circles around the Charlotte 49ers this past Saturday, and the extra yardage (545 yards vs. 286 yards) paid off. USC steamrolled past Charlotte 56-20 at home. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point USC had established a 42-14 advantage. RB MarShawn Lloyd had a dynamite game for USC; he rushed for three TDs and 169 yards on 15 carries. Lloyd had some trouble finding his footing against the Georgia Bulldogs two weeks ago, so this was a step in the right direction. Lloyd's sharp performance set his single-game rushing touchdown high for the season.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs came up short against the North Carolina A&T Aggies this past Saturday, falling 41-27.
The Gamecocks' win brought them up to 2-2 while South Carolina State's loss pulled them down to 1-2. USC is 0-1 after wins this season, and South Carolina State is 1-0 after losses.
