South Alabama vs. Louisiana updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the South Alabama vs. Louisiana football game
The South Alabama Jaguars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns at 5:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Hancock Whitney Stadium. South Alabama will be strutting in after a win while Louisiana will be stumbling in from a defeat.
A well-balanced attack led South Alabama over Southern Miss in every quarter on their way to victory last Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that South Alabama blew Southern Miss out of the water with a 55-3 final score. The result was nothing new for South Alabama, who have now won three matchups by 26 points or more so far this season.
La'Damian Webb continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 102 yards and four touchdowns. South Alabama also got help from Caullin Lacy who showed off his sure hands for 103 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, the point spread may have favored Louisiana last Saturday, but the final result did not. They fell just short of Georgia State by a score of 20-17. It was the first time this season that Louisiana let down their fans at home.
Despite the defeat, Louisiana got a solid performance out of Zeon Chriss, who rushed for 119 yards, and also threw for 106 yards and a touchdown.
The victory makes it two in a row for South Alabama and bumps their season record up to 4-3. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 50 points. As for Louisiana, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
Looking ahead, South Alabama is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by ten points.
South Alabama skirted past Louisiana 20-17 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will South Alabama repeat their success, or does Louisiana have a better game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
