The Rutgers Scarlet Knights and the Nebraska Cornhuskers will face off in a Big Ten clash at 7 p.m. ET Oct. 7 at SHI Stadium. RU is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home.
It's hard to picture a worse loss than the 49-10 bruising that the Scarlet Knights suffered against the Ohio State Buckeyes this past Saturday. RU was in a tough position by the half, with the score already sitting at 28-7. QB Evan Simon had a memorable game, but not in the way you want to be remembered: despite one touchdown, he threw one interception and fumbled the ball once with only 74 yards passing.
Meanwhile, it was all tied up 21-21 at the half for Nebraska and the Indiana Hoosiers this past Saturday, but Nebraska stepped up in the second half for a 35-21 win. The victory came about even with Nebraska handicapping themselves with 101 penalty yards. Nebraska's WR Trey Palmer was one of the most active players for the team, catching eight passes for one TD and 157 yards. One of the most thrilling moments was Palmer's 71-yard TD reception in the fourth quarter.
The Scarlet Knights are expected to lose this next one by 3. Those playing the odds have seen things go back and forth with RU, who are 1-2-1 against the spread.
RU is now 3-2 while Nebraska sits at a mirror-image 2-3. Nebraska is 0-1 after wins this year, and RU is 0-1 after losses.
