Rutgers vs. Michigan: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game

The Michigan Wolverines are 7-0 against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights since November of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. Michigan and RU will face off in a Big Ten battle at 7:30 p.m. ET at SHI Stadium. The Wolverines won't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy a 26.5-point advantage in the spread.

Michigan entered their matchup on Saturday as the heavy favorite, and they fully lived up to expectations. They made easy work of the Michigan State Spartans and carried off a 29-7 victory. RB Blake Corum continued his habit of dropping crazy stat lines, rushing for one TD and 177 yards on 33 carries in addition to snatching one receiving TD.

Special teams collected 17 points for Michigan. K Jake Moody delivered a perfect 5-for-5 game.

Meanwhile, a win for RU just wasn't in the stars on Saturday as the squad never even grasped a temporary lead. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 31 to nothing punch to the gut against the Minnesota Golden Gophers. The Scarlet Knights were surely aware of their 14-point disadvantage in the point spread, but the foreknowledge did nothing to prevent the result. QB Gavin Wimsatt had a memorable game, but not in the way you want to be remembered: besides failing to produce a single touchdown, he threw one interception and fumbled the ball once with only 68 yards passing.

This next contest looks promising for the Wolverines, who are favored by a full 26.5 points. Those burned by picking them against the spread on Saturday might want to keep in mind that the team has not yet dropped back-to-back games against the spread this season.

Michigan's victory brought them up to 8-0 while RU's defeat pulled them down to 4-4. Two defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: Michigan enters the game with only ten touchdowns allowed, good for third best in the nation. As for RU, they come into the game boasting the 10th fewest yards allowed per game in the nation at 291.
